Former festival favourites Blue Grass Boogiemen from The Netherlands are a highly entertaining band that comfortably handles a range of music with flair, taste and energy. Critics simply advise that all fans of bluegrass music make sure they ‘catch this band when they come through their town’. Featuring five seasoned musicians from North-western Canada, Hungry Hill offer lush vocal harmonies that resonate to the true roots of bluegrass and old-time music. Critically acclaimed, this band is sure to kick start a memorable Friday night at the Ulster American Folk Park!

Four-time winner of the International Bluegrass Music Association's Fiddle Player of the Year, Michael Cleveland and his talented band Flamekeeper present a programme of tight vocals and blistering instrumentals that echo the first-generation stars of bluegrass. As the 2007 IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year, this five-piece band has long been one of bluegrass music’s hottest attractions. Honed over decades of playing festivals, honky-tonks and everywhere in between, the spellbinding musicianship and spirited vocals of Dan Paisley and the Southern Grass proudly reflects the timeless bluegrass sound of their fathers while imparting a razor's edge intensity all of their own. Saturday night also boasts the current European Bluegrass Band of the Year, G2 Bluegrass Band from Sweden. These five young men have been thrilling audiences all over the continent with their unique brand of bluegrass and are set to perform in Omagh just weeks before they represent Europe at the International Bluegrass Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jerry and Tammy Sullivan have gone from being one of gospel music's best-kept secrets to one of its most loved successes. The legendary Aubrey Ghent has won national acclaim for his unique gospel style and his highly skillful techniques on the lap steel guitar. Instruments Workshops

The McAuley Lectures


Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th September at 1.00pm

In memory of our good friend Tony McAuley, this years lecture series will once again be delivered by Professor Jack Bernhardt from North Carolina. Jack is an expert on American folk music and for the past four years he has delighted followers of old-time and bluegrass music with his informative and entertaining presentations. Local collector and folk music enthusiast Rodney McIlrea will once again thrill the audience by giving us a glimpse into his unique collection and reveal more musical treasures which will have everyone talking!
